bmw e46 IKE mileage and vin change with XPROG-M 5.55
Hi, the speedo from my e46 2002 is dead. bought a 2004 speedo in good working order, tried to swap the eproms but the cluster doesnt work properly with my 2002 eprom. bought also xprog-m 5.55 to code it.
i've read other threads here and i understand how to put the correct mileage and VIN in the cluster. but i'm not understanding how to read/write the eprom m35080 with xprog-m. I normally use UPA USB 1.3 to read eproms but it doesn't write the m35080. anyone can help me? thanks in advance. |

RE: bmw e46 IKE mileage and vin change with XPROG-M 5.55
With X-Prog you cannot overwrite mileage with lower value in M35080. You either need m35080 eraser to erase first two lines to zero the mileage or you can buy blank new chip M35080 or 080DOWQ with zeroed incremental register on first two lines and then you can put new mileage or leave it zeroed. You can overwrite VIN and then save dump to new m35080/080dowq. Cluster may show also 999.998km or so (depends on mileage offset value, but that can be set to zero with tool32 then).
This is however not yet done, cluster will not work correctly. It requires to be coded. You must use NCS, read ZCS/FA from other unit (EWS or LSZ) and then code the cluster with SG_CODIEREN job. Cluster will adapt mileage from EWS/LSZ and configure exactly to your vehicle. If VIN was left blank, it will also write VIN into the cluster. |

RE: bmw e46 IKE mileage and vin change with XPROG-M 5.55
yes i have the ncs expert, and I will do that after coding the cluster. I also have new m35080-3 chips.
I read the eprom from the 'new' cluster, and changed the mileage and vin on the file to match the other modules of my car. as I couldn't write the new m35080-3 chip with UPA USB, i bought xprog-m. but right now i'm not getting how to write the chip with xprog. i dont understand how to connect the eprom chip to the m35080 adapter from xprog. (sorry i'm a newbie ) |

Works ok with upa programmer, also with x-prog. You need programming adapter for sop8 chip, or you must solder it on board that comes with it. Same with upa, needs some socket or clip and appropriate adapter.

RE: bmw e46 IKE mileage and vin change with XPROG-M 5.55
its already done and all working in the car. upa doesn't write it dont know why, tried soldered on the board and with soic8 clip. but xprog did very well with soic8 clip. also rewrite a used m35080-3. worked better than I expected
many thanks |
