RE: I Step Downgrade after MPPK Installed
To allow a flash in e-sys, it must think the module software is older. When you read the SVT and save it as SVT_ist, click edit and find the modules you want to flash. Under BTLD, SWFL, and CAFD, change the main version to 000, then save the file. When you calculate a target, esys will think you have very old software, and allow you to flash the module.
This works great for flashing a module that is already up to date. Be careful doing this, as some modules do not take well to downgrades. |

RE: I Step Downgrade after MPPK Installed
Thank you for your answer. I know this procedure, but in this specific case there is some kind of protection implemented by bmw that prevents the old softwares and bootloader to be flashed.
The old btld and swfl are correctly identified by Esys and the flash starts, but then it always fail while you try to downgrade, and then you have unkn elements under the ecu list. At this point, you can only reflash the newest 19-03 softwares to have the DME work. To be precise, the error is related to some dependency which is not correct. The flash always fail just after the btld flash, which is correctly done. As soon as it starts to flash the first swfl, then it fails. So the btld can be actually downgraded, the swfl can’t. Any help is appreciated! |
