BMW E90 HYDRAULIC TO ELECTRIC SWAP
Hello ALL

Wanted to know how difficult it is to swap my current E90 320D hydraulic rack to EPS.
My car is 01/2010 manufacture and i know the later E90's came with EPS standard.
Has anyone done this before? Any thoughts and suggestions please..

Happy Holidays

I'm sorry I can't help you, but just out of curiosity... why would you want to do so?

You might cut down a bit on fuel consumption but the "feel" and feedback you get from the hydraulic power steering is generally acknowledged as far superior to the electronic on the E90's. At least that's what I've experienced myself and mostly read on the BMW-forums.

I find ESP just as good. Infact i dont see a big difference. This idea that hydraulic drives better is just resistance to change in my opinion. But like all vehicle technological advancements, someone will always insist that old is better happy

Alright, to each his own I guess... It might also be a lot better on the newer BMW's. But still I'm wondering why you would want to go through the trouble of swapping to EPS? Is this out of personal preference OP?
