VToyota  Yaris 2008 1.4 D4D
I am completely new to chip-tuning and I would like to re-map my 2008 Yaris 1.4 D4d (NLP90R) 66kW/90PS. From a quick look on other forums the best way to tune my car to a stage 1 map is through the ECU and not by using them generic chips that are available online.

I have no idea where to start and what tools i need so be patient with me.

I did some research and couple of people suggested the Galletto tool but I don't think it covers my engine.

I am only interested for a stage 1 map. What tool do you suggest and where do i need to start from?

RE: Yaris 2008 1.4 D4D
hello, FG Tech galletto can do this toyotas.
yaris (Verso) 1.0l L3 E4 Bosch ME795 R/W BootMode+Flasher
Yaris (Verso) 1.4l D4D Bosch EDC 15C9 R/W
Yaris (Verso) 1.4l D4D Bosch EDC 16C10 R/W

so if u have one of this ecu you can do it with Galletto, otherwise i dont know if Kess do it.

RE: Yaris 2008 1.4 D4D
Thanks for your reply BlackTDI.

I think my car has the EDC16C10 ecu but I am still looking to get information of my car. How can i find what ecu my car has?

Since I am new to all this so what else do i need to learn before i can remap my car (stage 1)? I don't really want to try and do something that is impossible for somebody like myself. I have a good understanding of cars, engines etc however i never tried anything to do with car mapping etc.

Assuming that Galleto can do my ecu, is the remapping something i can do my self or will it be easier to download a map from someone else and load it onto my car?

Hello, if you havent got any experience with electrical components and hardware dont do nothing yourself or you will spend a lot of money to repair YOUR DAMAGE! so study what you can on internet /forums and start to approach the topic. maybe here in forum is someone who knows the work that you can do on this engine/electronics.

I am good with my hands and i have a good amount of knowledge and experience working on cars, however mapping is something i never tried before and this is another reason i would like to map my own car so that i gain experience by mapping my car.

then bro buy some clone of Kess or Gallo and start to learn! maybe before uploading custom maps or edited one post it on forum so people with more knowledge can view it and give a opinion!
