Yaris 2008 1.4 D4D
I am completely new to chip-tuning and I would like to re-map my 2008 Yaris 1.4 D4d (NLP90R) 66kW/90PS. From a quick look on other forums the best way to tune my car to a stage 1 map is through the ECU and not by using them generic chips that are available online.
I have no idea where to start and what tools i need so be patient with me. I did some research and couple of people suggested the Galletto tool but I don't think it covers my engine. I am only interested for a stage 1 map. What tool do you suggest and where do i need to start from? |

RE: Yaris 2008 1.4 D4D
Thanks for your reply BlackTDI.
I think my car has the EDC16C10 ecu but I am still looking to get information of my car. How can i find what ecu my car has? Since I am new to all this so what else do i need to learn before i can remap my car (stage 1)? I don't really want to try and do something that is impossible for somebody like myself. I have a good understanding of cars, engines etc however i never tried anything to do with car mapping etc. Assuming that Galleto can do my ecu, is the remapping something i can do my self or will it be easier to download a map from someone else and load it onto my car? |

Hello, if you havent got any experience with electrical components and hardware dont do nothing yourself or you will spend a lot of money to repair YOUR DAMAGE! so study what you can on internet /forums and start to approach the topic. maybe here in forum is someone who knows the work that you can do on this engine/electronics.

I am good with my hands and i have a good amount of knowledge and experience working on cars, however mapping is something i never tried before and this is another reason i would like to map my own car so that i gain experience by mapping my car. |
