I don't remember exactly and have no car to check it now. But it was along that list of service functions like changing battery type, oil service intervals and so on. I also never used it but if I remember correctly it was there and it was named something about 2nd-3rd hard shift.

OK, I will check as soon as possible. Preferably before removing the vavle body. I will search for that function in ISTA-p. Thank You.

Does anybody know anything about this ISTA-P function? I don`t have ISTA-P right now. I have a friend from another town with ISTA-P and ICOM. Can anybody with ISTA-P check if is any service function called "2nd to 3rd hard shift"? Thank you!

RE: Any ZF specialist on the forum?
Hey guys, I experience the exact problem in my 328i F30, it only has 39000 km's on it, its fitted with the ZF 8HP transmission, It hard shifts into second gear when cold on light throttle in any mode(sport/comfort..)
I spoke with a BMW field technician and he said I could go to BMW and have the software updated but I will lose power.
He also stated that changing the fluid with a vehicle with high Km's could flush out all the fibers worn in the clutch packs and have a detrimental effect. My car has low Km's but others with high K's could damage the gearbox. As the metallic fibers are sort of holding in the clutch packs..
I was also told by him if I were to use The early Solus Snap-on scanner to reset adaptations it may or will cause havoc to the rest of my control units.
Anyone had any positive results in carrying out any of these procedures?

Hi! I have the EXACT same problem on my 335i '06 E92. 2nd to 3d hard shift, only between 2000-2500 rpm, gets better when warmed up. Did you find a final solution now?

For those wondering about the hard shift fix in ISTA-P, those measures are usually found under retrofits. It's a programming/coding measure, so you need ISTA-P for E-series. The same measures are available under retrofits in ISTA+ for F-series

Do you have an example zb number for before and after of a fix? That way one can utilize WinKFP to flash that version.

RE: Any ZF specialist on the forum?
the problem is with a seal ring not solenoid. If was a solenoid will be not only on one gear becase  ''Solenoid A'' is responsible for 1,2,3 gear. ''Solenoid B'' is responsible for 3,5,R gear. ''Solenoid C'' is responsible for 2,6 gear. So if was one solenoid the problem there will be an isue on the other gears. Some seal ring is leaking and that is why the adaptation pressure is that high
