I never had this problem but I heared about it, this time it happened to me on a unit from 01/2010 with 8gb.
The map update to 2019 stopped at 77,9% and he can´t read the usb to continue.

My BMW dealers say its a software version (i-level) problem, which I can´t believe.

I also know it is possible to delete the maps via tool32 or telnet command.

With tool32 it is "steuern_navi_map" and arg. "0x01", is this correct?
Also there´s a nand repair command, can I use this one too?

If this works, can I at least update the maps to 2014?

simply let the car sleep and than give it usb with 18-1 maps

Nand Memory is just 8GB and that is not enough for maps 2018. You need to install max 2014 if you do it normal way.

If you have a car with production date 09-2009/03-2010 you have only 8GB Nand

I recently had a customer with the same navi.

Updated every module and did not help.

Latest working maps are 2014 or 2015-2 East.

Did you simply put the usb stick with 2014 maps in and updated it, even if the update failed at 7x% ?

I don't have expirience with your problem but i think it is possible but i don't now if other things than map are deleted then so be careful!

I think the way to go is to enter Nand by FTP or oder way and delete map manualy. But maybee other people have better idee's

FTP souldn´t be a problem, I guess the login data are the same as for cic prof, but I don´t know which folder to delete
