Hi, I need help in how to activate the Navigation part on a retrofited CIC_MID unit (Navi Business). 
The donor CIC unit is a 2010 model fited in a BMW E87 2006 model (without eth / ICOM in the ODB plug).

I have configured the CIC to work fine in the car (with NCS expert tool via the Dcan lines) but the Navigation is greyed out due to the VIN mismatch. The general USB based CIC script activation and patcher methods i find at the web only work on Navi Pro and not Business, as I understand it. 

Any tips / guides on how to activate with scripting or other methods except HW based emulators?

Script activation works on CIC-MID also. Just not the USB method. You need eth connection.

Thanks for your reply, but how do access the CIC via eth on this 2006 mod? Via an Eth. to USB adapter in the glovebox or do I have to rewire the ODB plug with eth lines to the CIC?

i've got the same problem. I bought a dub e100 of the old version. But i havent a conncetion with the dub e100 on the glovebox and a crossover cable.

So i found in the web a ethernet pin connection method for the cic. http://bmwtools.info/forum_men/uploads/e...ic_bmw.jpg

But here is pin 29 connect with the car battery.
On the website newtis it show the pin 29 connect to pin 8 on the obd interface.
So its not the same connection method.

have anyone more information about the connection with eth. to cic?

Do you also have the CIC MID (Navigation Business) or CIC HIGH (Navigation Professional)? It was mentioned in another forum that CIC-MID cannot not be reached via eth. for coding/updating but I am not sure that is right.

Edit: i dont used another option to connect with cic. only i used the usb glovebox option, and there i cant connect with the cic. i used a static ip but not way to have a connection

You can activate cic-mid with script over ftp/telnet. Search or buy solution.

I have retrofitted the CIC-MID navigation in the E82. The original car did not have navigation. I would need a script to activate it. I read that you can do it via FTP.


Can anyone help me on this topic not for free??
