Hello everyone,


I have a f15 with software stood from the beginning of 2015.  I'm not a big expert, I'm tinkering with my own vehicle.
I want to do a complette vehicle softwre update. I have an ENET adapter from di-it-auto. Can I update the complete vehicle with this adapter? Your experts; What should I look out for when running the software update? Do you have a few tips for me or would you advise me against doing so?

You can use ISTA-P with an ENET cable to do the update, but I don't recommend it. Get a real ICOM if you want to do a software update. For both methods, make sure you have a power supply capable of putting out 70A at 14V.

Not worth doing it yourself given the investment. Unless you run a workshop, you are better off leaving your car at dealer for the day. (Or 2 or more if they mess something...)

You are looking at around 800 euro for equipment alone. With a crap power supply...

I was by BMW-Dealership, fist they said me, software update is not necessary! I said them, there ist new software for the car avaliabel and I want to up date the car. They said ok, we will do it but I should sign a dokument, in that wrote, update with own risk, if some thing go wrong the dealer is nit reponsible and must pay.
Ist that so ok? how should I proceed? What can I do?

If you don't want to take a risk do nothing.  If the car is not broken don't try to fix it!

If you really want to do the update , sign the form and let dealer do the update.

If you have enough money there is always a solution even if thinks go wrong and you can buy ICOM original and Original Power Supply.

If you love to gamble try update without powersupply and ENET and if your lucky......

update without power supply on F15 cant end up well. Theres too much ecu's to do it just with battery.

I have also made a full update for a X5 F15 and ran without problems. With Esys you need background knowledge about which rework needs to be done. ISTA is a more comfortable way to do that. Do you have an N47 or an N57 EU6 engine? From 16-11-501 the AdBlue was fundamentally optimized for these engines. There were and are often efficiency errors and long-term adaptation factor is adjusted. To be on the safe side, borrow a strong loader. This process takes about 2 hours.

You can use it. Set the mode to charging and wait until it is stable > 13V.
Turn off the headlights etc.
