Can i downgrade the FW P1001 -> K942?

Dear all,
I want to thank all the contributors and authors of this topic and also share my experience.

I did manage to update firmware and maps to:
- 257_6_D1
- 6.28.2

I was updating from factory firmware and maps from 2010.

Car: Audi A5, MMI 3G High, European distribution

1. I had error 141, and one more error number I don't recall currently.
This appears to be fault of the SD card.
First, I did use 64GB SDXC card, formatted exFAT - first error came up.
Then, I tried the same card formatted FAT32 - still error 141.
Finally I did purchase specifically for this purpose SDHC 32GB card, formatted from factory in FAT32.
This one worked perfectly.

2. With 6.28.2 I did not need any of the activators.

3. I did delete the nav partition in green menu. Not sure if this was needed. There are contradictory statements on many forums about this one.

4. For the firmware, I did follow the one by one step approach.
So I did 5 separate firmware updates.

5. The whole process took exactly (maps): 2 hours 58 minutes

Hi everybody, probably another nooby question...
I have an A4 with 3GP with B&O.
I've updated my firmware to stock K942. Everything went well.
Now I want to update and activate maps. Everything is pretty much clear but I have just a couple of questions:
- Does updating maps have anything to do with my VIN number? Will MMI still show correct VIN after map updates?
- What is the map coverage - Europe?

In that post, they say the activator is for Hnav K257_6 and mine is k257_5.... Is it the same ?

Other question... the chapter of Activation the maps 3G-Basic and 3G-High, of tutorial from Post#1, it says activator has "FSC" folder and "metainfo2.txt" file, but the aactivator "_MMI3GH_ACT" has 2 folders "screens" and "utils", and 3 files "copie_scr.sh" "run.sh" "upd"..... Sorry for my fears

Update your firmware to k257_6 then following the instruction from the opening post.

Update with latest maps then wait for it to tell you the maps are not validated. Use the activator in sd1 and follow the onscreen instructions.

It's a modified activator I believe and that is why the folders are different. Trust me it works.
