Choosing ICOM- genuine or clone?
Hello,
I'm interested in buying a reliable ICOM interface. What should I follow, choosing the interface? Is china clone good as a genuine or not? Any reliable supplier etc? Thanks |

Definitely buy genuine.
I've had 2 "good" clones with heatsinks and wifi, both failed on me. Totally not worth the risk. Now I only run genuine hardware. I have a spare Next still in sealed box if you're stateside. |

buy a cheap genuine next, second try would be an expensive genuine next, coz you need to add cost of fake + broken ecu(s)

RE: Choosing ICOM- genuine or clone?
Years ago when ICOM were sold new for 2000+ euro it kinda made sense if you were a small workshop or individual with small personal fleet to buy a chinese clone...but now ICOM Next A is 400 euro ex VAT new from BMW so makes no sense yo buy a chinese clone anymore.

Exactly. Quality Chinese clones were worth 600€+ at the time and you had to buy WIFI card separately from that. Nowadays in order to lower the price they lowered the quality beyond any reason. |
