I also used to sell reworked units with almost all components replaced.
the quality of the rework was professional with not a single component overheated in the process.
I used only top quality soldering products and station.  
every pcb was custom stamped and some work stages were photographed and delivered to costumer with the reworked unit.  my reworks were complete not just the "list" that is floating around.
every single unit was pcb bare tested and filmed in the process.

Initially  I had a bach of 5 units of kess and 4 ktags.  the price was 300 euro / unit.  
I sold none on "the sites" but get only ridiculous offers and very silly questions.

eventually I sold out locally and never reworked another unit again and I never will for commercial purposes due to litlle to non profit vs time vs quality of work & presentation.

i paid around £220gbp for a reworked unit i think (so approx 300e same as you say)

i don't think id bother trying to fully rework one for the hassle

I think one of a possible problem by using Kess could be a bad PC system. Therefore I recommend to install the Kess software in a fresh installed VM (Win7x86) without any other software (virus protection, etc.)

... now you can install W7 + drivers on the latest machines no need to use VM.

an SSD more stable system is recommended.
also when reworking all connectors inside the ktag must be replaced with proper quality ones and the use of top quality usb cables is mandatory.

(the connectors rework must be done with zero flux contamination.
if one connector is contaminated it must be replaced. you just can`t proper / complete clean it )

Me also want to buy good working clone, since I am not able to rework it my self, but I dont see how one can sell reworked unit for about 250-400-500e when china clone is about 50e and rework components are about 20-30e, it is ok like to take 20-50 and postage, but so expensive, and we always found like cheap price for members, or special discount, or 50% off or... or... and still no good prices...

if a chinese clone and all the rework items are really that cheap then surely you would teach yourself how to rework them

for me you are paying for the experience on how to rework, the soldering quality and a pre-done unit working out the box

these EU units sold by a few people are just fancy colours imo

Even 300e is ok but for reworked china unit 500 is not fair...
When I am trying to learn SMD soldering, I now why someone can take like 150e for his work maybe more...
My problem is that even my soldering station is china made, bat also wick, solder, flux is aliexpress quality so it is not even worth trying to rework... 
Anyway I will see what can I do....

All right Guys, so a little update from me: My Kess 2.47 has worked like a charm ever since. I found that my obd pinout cable was malfunctioning, resulting in poor Connection. So all good. And reworked my beloved pinout cable at the same time
