VAS 6154 dongle USB connection Error - ODIS 5.04
Hi, i need some help please.
I have an original VAS6154 dongle. When i connect the device the usb driver installs. It then creates a network device under Device Manager and a virtual LOCAL AREA CONNECTION. The dongle blue light see's the connection and goes solid. I can ping the device and Odis see's the vehicle. BUT a few seconds later it loses the connection and the device under Device Manager disappears as well as the virtual LAN under network connections. I've tried several settings, including reinstalling the VAS6154 usb drivers, reinstalling Odis, removing 802.1x authentication, different USB cables and even different laptops. Same scenario. When it does this it will connect, then lose the device under device manager, and then about 10 seconds later it re-discovers the device and creates the virtual LAN, and repeats. Is there a configuration i am missing ? |

RE: VAS 6154 dongle USB connection Error - ODIS 5.04
Hi Thanks for the reply.
I did manage to solve the issue. The problem was with the USB adapter that plugs into the dongle. That cable used the Rugged USB port at the back of the VAS6150. What seems to go wrong is it doesnt power up the device, only when it plugs into the vehicle. I used a standard USB cable and plugged it directly into the VAS6154. It worked immediately, not one issue. Thank-you to all for assisting. |
