I am a tenured mechanic with a decent scanner, I am not an experienced locksmith by any means at all.
With that said, I have used my scanner to make keys for our ford service trucks, my dads buick, my sons dodge charger, and my brothers toyota camry.
This is my first go at a Nissan and i am stuck,

Ok, i am trying to help my sister out with a 2013 nissan rogue she bought from IAAI.
It was sold with the emergency key only, but will not start because it doesn't have a chip.
This is our first nissan and it is weird.
The ignition on the steer column turns with no key in it, is it broken or is that normal?
The dealer said a key isn't needed for the car to start, that the fob unlocks the ignition?
I bought new keys/fobs to program, but my scanner can't get past the required 4 digit pin code.
I have an Autel MS906TS and it pulls the bcm code, but cannot progress without the code.

I need a bcm immobilizer pin code for a 2013 Nissan Rogue. I am working with an Autel MaxiSys MS906TS and it provides me the 5 digit bcm pin code. I used BCM Calculator App to convert the pin and it provided 2 pins, neither will work. I can provide the VIN, pics of my scanner, pics of the BCM, and any necessary info needed to be able to program the keys this weekend. 

I do have a cool locksmith that is trying to help me out, but at the moment he is pretty busy and hasn't been able to come over with his good programmers that can bypass or convert the pin.
He has advised me that the bcm could be bad since this is a wrecked car and has an active bcm code U1000.

Any help or advise is greatly appreciated.

I tried it and failed.
I have code U1001 can-bus active.
The i-key ignition switch turns freely with no key, is that a sign of a bad BCM?
Or do i need to solve the can-bus issue first?
This can code is on all the modules i scanned, the engine, transmission, airbags, abs etc...
I think this could be the reason i am not successful with the reprogramming.
If the i-key ignition doesn't lock in the locked position, does that indicate a failed ignition switch or failed bcm?

so i have a can bus issue.
at this point, will have to wait for the frame machine and get the crushed radiator support pulled off the block.
then i can check all the wiring and repair anything that is damaged.
i will update once we can get it to the collision shop.
it would have been nice to hear this thing start before dumping a couple of grand in it.

car is at collision repair shop getting cosmetics. once that is done, i will carry to the dealer, thanks guys
