i read a sid 305
the hw id and sw id in the saved files are weird characters and not the real ones. see the attached image.
is it dangerous to write this file on ecu after edit? how can i edit and correct this values in the read file?

what did you do with modifyed file?does same no. apear with ori one?

as you Can see in the Pic i attached It is the ori file loaded. i read It 4 times but Always have weird characters in hw and sw id

Is it a nissan or renault ? It happened to a friend before to damage ecu after writing Nissan 1.5 DCI SID305 with kess V2. Its not 100% safe. I read sid 309 before with pcmflash. Then i put this file to kessV2 and see the same characters as you. I write back file with pcm flash and all was ok. I did not take the risk of writing with kessV2.Better use other tool to read again and write. Also be careful. You will find 1.5mb files and 2 mb files in the net according to sid 305. I thinks it depends on car and tool.

Had the same today on a Fluence, also SID305

Got also 5-digits instead of 10-digit numbers. I think that's the way how it is on those Ecu's...

Read/Write done without any issues, 5 min read and 10 mins write

same here on SID309. when selected the tuned file for writing some weird characters appeared.
I wrote the file anyway with no issues ....
