Urgh, this is bad news, and i happened to find out just now, because i was wondering why Sedoy's standalone hasn't caught up to the 4.38 version.  That's WHY.............

Well, i need 4.38 so i will pay.  I would much rather pay to Sedoy but what choice do i have...

And how exactly do you do that ?  because i have been reading about this here on this forum. But one person says this the other says no you have to do it this way, and there is nobody who post the correct way how to do it , so i am still waitingh to update the DSP and BLp.

I created a SQLiteDBs folder and I put Global and EN above but still the same problem.

Are all the files downloaded as per the installation structure file and are they all in the same folder?

If you're installing manually and having issues then use Sedoy's installer instead. I and many others have used it and it 100% works so you either have an issue with your downloaded files or there's something else wrong with your PC

What do you need to know - how to update 4.37.4x to 4.38.3x?

This is what I did and it worked for me (assuming you have ISTA Launcher Console downloaded and the folders set up correctly) - maybe some of these steps can be combined but as it worked for me I'm happy!

1) Install Sedoy 4.37.4x standalone

2) Download and put the following files into the ISTA_Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.37.42.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.10.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.38.10.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.38.10a.istapackage

3) Run IstaLauncherConsole

4) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder apart from BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.10.xml

5) Download and put the following files into the ISTA Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.11.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.38.11.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.38.11.istapackage

6) Run IstaLauncherConsole

7) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder apart from BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.11.xml

BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.39.10.istapackage

15) Run IstaLauncherConsole

EDIT for 4.39.25:

16) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder apart from BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.39.10.xml

17) Download and put the following files into the ISTA Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.39.20.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.39.20.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.39.20.istapackage

18) Run IstaLauncherConsole

19) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder apart from BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.39.20.xml

20) Download and put the following files into the ISTA Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.39.21a.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.39.21.istapackage

25) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder to clean up (or you can leave BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.39.25.xml in there ready for the next update)

26) Done - Service data should now show as 4.39.25!

Still having issues regarding programming system could not be initialised. 
Did the following and have had the issue for multiple versions now. Even did rcleaner also. 

1. uninstall ISTA

2. remove all ISTA keys from registry:

a. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\ISTA

b. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold

c. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold

3. remove all files from ISTA installdirectory

4. reinstall ISTA

Anyone installed ista from BMW TIS site?
Will installing 4.38.16 from BMW TIS site mess up the BMW ISTA 4.37.43 standalone installation?  If so then i would need to install 4.38.16 to a different laptop.

If you get it from the BMW TIS site then I believe you need to have a valid AOS/offline license like I mention before from DavyG as you will require the launcher with license loaded.

If you have the latest service data, I'm not overly sure what the need is to have the latest 4.38.xx software directly - some people are still using Sedoy's 4.32.1x which didn't require license for example!
