I got a license from Sedoy for 4.37.22, can I just update to 4.38.30 with the launcher without getting on Sedoy's nerves again?

If you're installing manually and having issues then use Sedoy's installer instead. I and many others have used it and it 100% works so you either have an issue with your downloaded files or there's something else wrong with your PC

You can still update to the 4.38 service data but using the 4.37 program.

And how exactly do you do that ?  because i have been reading about this here on this forum. But one person says this the other says no you have to do it this way, and there is nobody who post the correct way how to do it , so i am still waitingh to update the DSP and BLp.

This is what I did and it worked for me (assuming you have ISTA Launcher Console downloaded and the folders set up correctly) - maybe some of these steps can be combined but as it worked for me I'm happy!

1) Install Sedoy 4.37.4x standalone

2) Download and put the following files into the ISTA_Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.37.42.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.10.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.38.10.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.38.10a.istapackage

3) Run IstaLauncherConsole

4) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder apart from BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.10.xml

5) Download and put the following files into the ISTA Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.11.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.38.11.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.38.11.istapackage

6) Run IstaLauncherConsole

7) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder apart from BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.11.xml

8) Download and put the following files into the ISTA Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.21.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.38.21.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.38.20.istapackage

9) Run IstaLauncherConsole

10) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder apart from BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.21.xml

11) Download and put the following files into the ISTA Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.30.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.38.30.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.38.30.istapackage

12) Run IstaLauncherConsole

EDIT for 4.39.1x:

13) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder apart from BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.38.30.xml

14) Download and put the following files into the ISTA Store\Downloads folder:
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.39.10.xml
BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.39.10.istapackage
BMW_ISPI_ISTA_DELTA-SDP_4.39.10.istapackage

15) Run IstaLauncherConsole

16) Delete all files from ISTA Store\Downloads folder to clean up (or you can leave BMW_ISPI_ISTA-META_SDP_4.39.10.xml in there ready for the next update)

17) Done - Service data should now show as 4.39.1x!

This is a good guide, but you dont need to delete multiple times. just put all the files with SDP and BLP in their name in the folder, run istaconsole and it will migrte them all in one go! you can leave them there for next time aswell.

Also, in the config you can change the location of the Downloads folder. I have it set to a mount on my 4TB NAS for example, but you can set it to another folder on C:, or to a different drive (internal or external!)

The only reason I've done it separately is I found sometimes that it was skipping BLP files - for example the first time I went from 4.37.4x to 4.38.1x, it skipped and did not install BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.38.10a.istapackage and jumped straight to BMW_ISPI_ISTA-BLP_4.38.11.istapackage. When I removed the files and did it again separately, it installed 10a.

I wasn't sure if it was missing something so stuck to doing it a version at a time just in case.

That's by design. BLP isn't delta (patched ) installed, it's just copied straight over. So you only ever need to install the 'latest' version, not go through each of the subsequent ones like to do with the SDP

I did according to the instructions, but only BLP is updated, without SDP
