ZVW  Hi guys need some advice with a Golf
Hi guys im new to tuning and wanted to know if this problem could be fixed by mapping it etc
Ok
I have a Mk5 Golf GT TDI 140 2.0
common fault is sticky veins in the turbo, so when i hit about 80mph the car will over boost and this then puts me into limp mode.

is it possible to map it so it will not go into limp mode? because all i do is turn the car off and on again and i have boost back until ^^ said speed
Ive not mapped the car as of yet will be doing hard cut and stage 1 when i get everything sorted.

Thanks if anyone has any advice.

Hello,

Seriously, just clean the turbo?!  secret

I know you're looking for a temporary solution, but i'm not a proper tuner. And since nobody answered your question...  biggrin

Not related, but may i suggest you also clean evrything intake related (intake manifold + intake valves, throttle body, egr, intercooler pipe > intake manifold) before remaping? Do both and you'll start with a fresh engine (considering everything else is ok)!  yes

Hoping you'll get it sorted. Will likely do mine soon as well! On a MK6 though...

How much Kms is your MK5? If you have some time, could you upload some pictures during the job? Just for the sake of curiosity?!

Good luck...

Sébastien.

just because you remap out the problem doesnt mean it goes away

hardware issue is not solved with software fix

RE: Hi guys need some advice with a Golf
Usually overboost or underboost condition are caused by sticking turbo. But always main problem is not Turbo.
Always, there is a reason why this has happened. It is too much fuel, or less air.
First step and only proper way to fix problem is to disassemble and clean up the turbo and sticking vanes. In this operation pay particular attention to completely remove corrosion between the large (bottom) plate and turbine housing. When it comes together, everything has to move very easily.
After this, go to search main problem which caused too much soot content in turbo. Start from measuring EGR, MAP (Inlet hose), Injectors...
