Update MSD80 VIN with?
Hi All, I'm a bit of a noob at this but learning! I had my DME MSD80 replaced about a year ago with a used replacement that i had coded etc by a garage I use. I've since noticed that the VIN number on the DME doesn't match my car after trying MHD flasher for monitoring. Can anyone help me with what the best software is i need to use and how I update it, I've already got installed working versions of INPA/ISTA WinKFP etc.
I've found various guides around but could someone please confirm the best process for me to do this, I don't want any ISN issues after updating the VIN, some of the guides say I might have to do this to get the car to start. I don't want to do that! Please help! Thank you |

RE: Update MSD80 VIN with?
A mechanic I use has told me i might have coding problems if i take it to a garage with a different VIN on the DME? The reason why I want to do this is because I need to replace the DSC pump. If the garage does the DSC pump will they have problems coding it if the VIN numbers are different?

RE: Update MSD80 VIN with?
Keep in mind,
MHD always shows VIN number of first UIF record, which is hardcoded in flash and u cant change it, another VIN is current one, u can check by c_fg_lesen in tool32 third one is current UIF, thats in aif_lesen or in inpa UIF screen third one is never used anywhere and is just for informational purpose, DME can be flashed without updating UIF and that UIF can be modified as u want |

My correct VIN is the one shown in the CAS VIN. So if I understand you right I can change the VIN in the DME but MHD will always show what's in the screenshot. Is that right? |

RE: Update MSD80 VIN with?
great thank you, I won't bother changing the VIN on the DME then.
Just so that I understand correctly, if i followed this article https://www.ecuworx.co.uk/2016/02/26/add...th-tool32/ it would just update the 3rd UIF that Levanime mentions? |
