i just bought a little damaged W166 2016 GLE 350 Bluetec. I have one key (which turns on KL15, open/close car so i bet it is original key) car.. do not have engine ECU, it was stolen;..

Also i cannot reach gearbox ecu (im using xentry 2017, and other circa 38 modueles are reachable). Do gearbox ECU need engine ECU to work ? (i mean just to diagnose it) ? 

I know i can go to MB buy brand new engine ecu but it cost a lot.
What are cheaper options ? Who can help me ?

And also cOMAND navi shows anti theft protection active. Do COMAND need engine ecu to work ?

Necessarily need the engine ECU for diagnostics and operation of the transmission ECU!

for FBS4, you will have to buy a new engine ECU and put it into operation at the dealer MB; I think so

At least i know now that tranny ecu wasnt stolen.
whats FBS4 ? sorry for that queston but i'm not mercedes guy at all

Dealer can only solve this problem for now. Fbs is known as your immobilizer data, that coordinates with your ecu, eis, tcm and key.

Most third party programmers can only deal with older fbs3.

You should be able to read your tcu. If no communication, check your wirings.
