BMW E46 320D - Please inspect my tune
Hello to all,
a company near my home tuned my car via obd some 3 years ago. Paid just 200€ for it. Car feels good and has gained power. Smoke has increased a little too much for my taste. But from time to time, especially when cruising with cruise control at about 120km/h, the engine goes into emergency mode but immediately recovers from it half a second later. Feels like it accelerates and breaks alternately. This would repeat for hours if i don't shut off the engine and start again. Then everything is fine again. Reading out the error memory gives me a boost target/pressure too low failure. Since the warranty is over, or i think there was never a warranty given, i wrote them an email to send me my original ecu file (see attachment) and didn't say anything about the problems. A friend of mine downloaded the tuned ecu file from my car via obd (see attachment). We then compared the two files with Titanium and WinOLS, but our experience in such things is not that good. Then we ran a log file in 4th gear from 1500rpm to redline with full throttle to see what is going on: https://datazap.me/u/playalisticp/bmw-32...0&data=2-4 The log was run with 3 passengers and almost full gas tank, if someone wonders about poor acceleration or something. Unfortunately we forgot to log the actual air mass, hope that is not that important. But from the chart now i think i see the problem. Boost target is set too high for the lower revs. Am i right or are there any other, maybe additional problems? I also wonder about the drop of pressure at about 4000rpm. I would appreciate it when someone could look into the attached ecu files and tell what he thinks about the tuning which the company has done. My apprehension is that they just adjusted everything as high as possible and didn't care about dependencies between the maps. If you feel you can do it better, i appreciate for every tune you post. What i need is power (180hp+), less smoke, and the most important: calibration! Car is a BMW 320D E46. Engine is a M47TU (2 liter diesel 4 cylinder). Original horse power is 150hp, actually i don't know how much it has now with the tune. I would estimate 170 to 180hp. Thanks! |
