XZBMW  BMW G11 G12 Kombi Problem after update
Hi all,

I have a very weird problem, after updateing a G12 from 2015 to the last firmware the KOMBI is black.

Kombi is programmed OK and all files are in, with ISTA-D kombi is free of any DTC but the panel stays black.

I try to flash older firmware in the KOMBI, and after that KOMBI was working only the light is very bright and its not able to adjust.

So 100% is that after putting last firmware KOMBi keeps black but have no DTC stored.

Does someone know if the KOMBI needs to be replaced after flashing to last I-Level? because in ISTA i read someting about this but the info is very small and is related to a PUMA number.

Let me know if someone else also have this problem.

Did you programmed the vehicle with a router or ethernet switch in between ISPI and ICOM?

To reprogram KOMBI and HUD connect the internet cable to #1 connector in router or ethernet switch then any other connector to laptop then other to ICOM, initiate other session in ISTA D then you should be able to code KOMBI

ISTA 4
New models can be dealt with
Benefit: The new vehicles F98, F97, G28 can be dealt with.
Process for deblocking component protection
The component protection is extended to the vehicles G11, G12 version as of 07/2015 and F15, F16, F85,
F86 with version as of 07/2016.
As well as the HU-H2 (formerly NBT Evo), the component protection is also active since 3/2018 for the HUB2 (formerly Entry Evo) and also in the HU-H3 MGU since 7/2018.
The process is identical for both control units and is documented in the ISTA user guide.
The user guide can be opened in ISTA using the “?” button.

New protection against tampering - control unit encoding
In G05, G15 and subsequent vehicles, the HU-H3 (formerly MGU), TCB, RSE and instrument cluster control
units are linked together. This should prevent tampering with vehicles.
If one or more of the components are exchanged, the connection must then be re-established.
In order to re-establish the connection, an electronic certificate must be created in a BMW backend and
imported into the vehicle

But software that did not have a certificate,
now he has,
you must import a certificate (FSC)
