Two main Tyre Pressure monitoring systems used by BMW:

1. Flat Tyre Monitor System (AKA RDC) has standard rubber valves (works on wheel rotation through the ABS Sensors)
   
2. Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, works off sensors in the wheel, usually metal steamed valves, which can monitor the Tyre Pressure and the Temperature in near real-time
   

This approach focuses on RDC system.

Several Issues Experienced (at different times), where this approach has worked:

1. Flat Tyre Alert warning constantly displaying for a suspected flat Tyre, plus "Perform Reset" greyed out. Tyre Pressures were all normal when checked
   
2. Tyre Pressure Status image has all tyres greyed out, plus "Perform Reset" greyed out. Tyre Pressures were all normal when checked
   

Days of effort were wasted trying to solve the above issues, particularly issue number 1. This solution was found to be the most effective for my 2014 F07 520d GT (with el cheapo RDC), it basically turns off the RDC via coding, then turns the RDC back on thereby resetting it fully.

Usually there is no need for fdl coding this. Just normal vo coding the headunit and some times dsc mosile if only fsc is installed. Will do the trick.
