Hi one and all,i would like to know what would i need to change on a e90 dme if i use a manual on a automatic or vice versa,do i just change vo numbers or flash the whole dme,at the moment i got ,kess,ktag and bmw tool,ncs expert etc,and any possibility to be done on bench.

You need to identify the car, engine, and dme type first.

The best tools for this kind of work will be the BMW tools: winkfp, ncs expert, etc. Usually involves flashing the manual or automatic version of the flash (depends on the dme, however), and then removing or adding 205 to VO, and coding.
Doing it on bench is not easy at all because you need to code the dme usually
