So i bought an NBT-EVO head unit of a Mini Countryman F60 2017 for my Mini F55 Cooper S pre LCI 2015.

I thought that the LCI mini F55 and F56 (facelifted in 2018) had the same head unit because from 2018 onwards the F55 and F56 also has touchscreen like 2017+ countryman F60 and clubman F54. Strangely when coding the head unit for my car we cannot get the Cooper 3d or 5d animations/car on the screen. We only see the F60 or F54.

It seems/looks like that the F55/F56 LCI was never fitted with an NBT EVO. Instead it was fitted with a different head unit. Can someone confirm this? The user interface looks identical but the headunit seems to be something else than an NBT EVO.

Other than the visuals all functionality seems to work fine. all car info is accesable and visible only the car displayed on the screen is the stationwagon (F54 clubman).

NOTE: So rerouting the ethernet wires from quadlock to OARB to flash the unit will not work and it will fail! Mine failed and I had to send the unit to an expert to get if fixed. Don't try it.

It seems like the new LCI F56 are fitted with entrynav2 headunit

Yea i did some more research it seems to be fitted with Headunit Basic Media 2. I guess this unit is not easly unlockable with fsc packs like the NBT evo? and map updates....


It seems that the NBT evo with istep > 03-18 has the 3d and 5d in the animations. Strangly mine is upgraded to 11-18 and still has no 3d or 5d in the animations. I am so confused….
