Reset ecu to be able to update again - MEV D 17 2G
Hi mates,
I have this unit from BMW M4 which Bmw garage cant update because they have reached the top of updates. I´ve never hear that. Can anyone help me how to "reset" the unit? Thanks in advance

The DME is limited to 60 programmings. You can try to reset the flash counter in the map. If that does not help get a used DME and rewrite the ISN and reset the operating hours.

DME lost firmware, last summer called me for a similar problem on DDE, nothing to do with esys, ISTA said to replace ecu, instead due to bug of OBD flasher, ecu had lost firmware, it seemed simple but due to limit of programming reached it could not, it was only result of bug. Recommend to contact flasher helpdesk, they found bugs and the ECU was restored via OBD BMW F10 530d 0911

Hi mates,
I have full bmw original avdi and ecu explorer 2018. Can I reset the counter only with the ecu on bench? I tried to communicate with it on bench but no good luck with the pinout on the photo. Thanks a lot

Ground looks wrong ... or not so reliable... use pin 3.
