Hey Guys, 



New to the forum and to BMW ownership. 



Apologies in advance if this has been spoken about before but i did try and do a search and couldnt see anything.



So how would i go about updating maps to 2019 for my E92 for UK roads? I am due to pick it up in two weeks so would like to load the latests maps as one of the first things i do its a 2011 model with BMW professional Nav.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum, you first need to know what type of map is installed, and you can check this through the idrive, navigation menu - eg. Europe Premium WEST, MOVE, MOTION etc.

Find and Download the latest corresponding map type.

To generate your FSC code for that particular map type and year, you will need a FSC CIC Generator, and a 1b file from the headunit. If you search on the forum you should be able to find the 1b script that you copy to a blank usb and insert into the glovebox to get your 1b file automatically from the car.

Use the generator to make your FSC code. Copy the downloaded map on to the blank usb, and insert into glovebox, enter the FSC code you generated when prompted on the display.

I havent collected the car yet so will find out the details of the type of map on the car in the next week or so.

Where is the best place to get hold of the maps ?

My nav version just says Europe Premium 2011 ECE

so do i download East or Western Europe or do i download both and install both files ?  i am based in the UK but wasnt sure if i can have the maps for all of europe or whether i just install western Europe.
