Hi all,

Im trying to remap a 1998 Golf Mk4 1.9 TDI but i cannot read the original file. I can identify the ECU using my MPPS as a EDC15V but cannot read the file, i know my software is installed correctly as i can read from other cars fine.

I tried after removing fuses 11 and 15 but still no luck, also tried with Galletto v54 but still cannot read from the ECU.

Any advice?

I think you will not read it by obd,
you need open the ecu

Thanks I have the ECU pinout but not sure which Galletto V54 cable will connect where? It looks like its just connecting 6 cables to the ECU pins without actually opening it.

Put 12v power to ecu pins 2 and 37
earth / gnd to ecu pins 4 and 5
also run 12v to pin 16 on mpps cable
ground to 4 and 5 on mpps cable

now all you need is k-line so run a wire from ecu pin 16 to mpps pin 7

then ecu id to make sure all is connected up ok and your good to go.
