Hello everyone,

I would like to do a retrofit of my kombi cluster on my F20 (2012).
I wanted at first to know what kind of kombi I can buy for my car model.
My KOMBI ref part is similar to : 6210 9287450.

From what I could see on the internet, I can only take the 6WA version.
The 6WB model does not exist for the F20.

For the retrofit, the change of kombi is in plug & play ?
Just add a coding step. But from a wiring point of view, no need to add or modify these cables ?

For the mileage of my car there will be no worries ? Do I have to buy a kombi with a lower mileage so that my actual mileage of my car is not distorted ?

1. which gen of 6WA you want? there are 2 gen of 6WA on F20. i.e. 6WA orange dial in night mode; 6WA2 white dial in night mode.

2. which headunit you're using? you need MOST enabled headunit in case to use with 6WA kombi, and yes, you need wiring MOST fibre to link your kombi with existing MOST loop.

3. for brand new kombi, nothing worries; for used kombi, VIN should be erased, mileage should be erase or lower mileage than your car.

Hello,

1. The 6WA2 model is very rare on the market I will rather take the 6WA version.

2. I have a HU_NBT2 (EVO), I do the retrofit myself (HU_ENTRY).
Currently I don't have optical cable, so I should buy this kind of cable, I connect directly KOMBI to NBT_EVO?

3. Ok so if I buy a KOMBI on ebay for example, if the mileage is lower than my current vehicle I do not need to do anything ?

2. yes, in case you don't have other MOST ecu, buy a pair of MOST fibre and connect between EVO and KOMBI directly.

3. the link you shown is BKOMBI2, still a basic cluster, not KOMBI (6WA) or KOMBI2 (6WA2). but sure you can retrofit this if you want.

What is the best model ? KOMBI, KOMBI2, BKOMBI ?
What is the big difference between these 3 models ?
The night display ? The size of the LCD screen? The displayed features (GPS ...) ?

The question is larger in reality.
I noticed that there is a lot of difference kombi cluster but I do not see the difference between all ... apart from the exterior design.

new gen (since 07/2017): BKOMBI2 , KOMBI2

for "B"asic KOMBI, only small lcd screen at the lower middle, cannot display navigation route

for KOMBI, aka 6WA, long lcd screen crossing from lower middle to lower right of the cluster, can be display nav route

and I have found some pics which taken before (i own F20 118i before, and replaced with F20 LCI2 120i few months ago; that's why I tried these 4 clusters)

Today I have a BKOMBI, so I only have a small display on bottom. By défaut my car has not have the navigation. But now, with the NBT EVO retrofit I have the navigation.
So the best for me is to buy a KOMBI2 (black panel 6WA).

Kombi retrofit is not plug and play. Most important thing is that you need a virginized kombi, you can not install a non virginized kombi, and you have to code it after installing

Also, Kombi made after 03/2016 are harder to erase than Kombi's made before that date.

Ok, so when I will buy the kombi2 6WA, I will ask to the seller to erase and write my VIN in the EEPROM. After that I will only change my bkombi by the new, then I add VO : 6WA, and I will code the new ECU.

Before to do this retrofit, I will update all my car ECU with the last I-step level
