The fullscreen carplay mod seems to be a patch/hack by a guy which enables full screen carplay on BMW nbt evo headunits.

and as per 2018-11 i guess this seems to be standard possible on BMW SW?

This patch does not seem to work on Mini SW with NBT EVO headunits. When installed the screen stays the same, splitted, only the icons get wider and bigger but still a part of the screen stays blacked out when using carplay.

Who did the patch/hack and could we contact him to work on the patch for Mini sw also? Would be great if he could fix it for the mini users....

Yes, but my istep is 2017-11 i first need to update. A friend has 2018-11. When he installs the patch this happens.



You can see all icons changed but there is still a black sidebar/split

Just to notify. This friend still uses his CIC/NONTOUCH screen with the evo.

FDL code carplay_fullscreen. ssh/telnet modify screen PhysicalWidth and PhysicalHeight

From interface of CarPlay it seems that fullscreen already been enabled using SSH, now what needs to be done is FDL coding carplay_fulsreen to aktiv

On my evo both are done. FDL and ssh with featureinstaller. But my istep is to low. It's on 2017-11.

First I will update the Istep to 07-2018 and run featureinstaller again. Then enable in fdl and see if it works.

According to the guy from which the picture above was taken. The screen will end up like that and cannot be reverted. The only way to fix it is to reflash the headunit. The patch seem to be specific for BMW HMI and not for MINI.

The question is. What is the reason he has this bug? incorrect patching? apix1 screen? or does it require manually patching a file with ssh? If so, which file and how to do this exactly?

Yes, you are right iLevel has to be >=07/18 for full screen to work. Currently, there are no public solutions or no one will share how to revert to non-fullscreen without flashing, if you are interested in reverting it, you can contact with me within WhatsApp.

Anyhow, if iLevel is appropriate and FDL coding done right with the right 143 FSC inserted everything should be ok!
