Hi

Is it possible to register a 4 year old battery in an E87 as if it had been fitted 4 years ago so that the IBS will treat it correctly?

The reason I ask is that I have 2 E87s, 2007 and 2010.
The battery in the 2007 is failing so needs replacing.  As I am selling the 2010 car to my brother I was going to put the new battery in that and register it.  The replaced battery from the 2010 is only 4 ywears old so I was going to put it in the 2007 car.  This way I can hopefully get the stop/start working again before I sell it as well.

The only method I can think of is to put the date back 4 years on the car and laptop  before registering the battery as new and then correct it afterwards.  Would this work?
Ideally I would like to register it at the mileage from 4 years ago but that is of minor importance.

I put an 11 month old battery in and registered it, it soon figured out the maximum charge was 95%.

Lol no..what and idea
If you register battery today, it will get undercharged.
And because change was never registered that battery condition is probably not as good as it should be.

And no you can not retrospectively register it 4 years ago today..
