Hi All,
After updating to 5.0.6 (works fine offline) I am trying to just test the online connection in preparation for online use in the future (I have used it in the past).

When I go into Extras-> Connection test, the usual way to test that the configuration is correct is to chose PinService for a brand, then start and not put in any username/password.  This should result in an invalid username/password error if the config is correct, and a 'no access to dealer portal' or similar fault if the connection configuration is incorrect.

However now when I go into connection test, click start on PinService test and it just goes to Alive Test and then comes back, without any fault and without doing any sort of test....

Anyone seen this behavior and know a fix for it?

U need a connection to get connected to the portal, 
Certificate
Cpn
Vpn
This are stuff which can connect you.
If u have certificate and u get this error then the certificate is blocked, either you need a new one or an alternative

Yes I understand the need to have the correct connection settings, valid certificate, working account etc.

I thought that in the past though even if none of that was correctly configured, you could still at least get the connection test to fail, and give an error about no access to dealer portal. But now it seems like the connection test itself is not working.

But maybe I am just remembering this incorrectly.

From always the connection test works without account only with the 'mirror server'........
For all others (for the online services) user he must have valid online account and depend from the connection type (CPN/VPN or simply internet) to configure the type in the Odis related menu......
