Changing CAS3+ Vin
I have a tool that can change ISN and Vin on CAS3+ eeprom BUT....

When I scan car with ISTA, vin is changed ok. BUT when I look at UIF in INPA, vin is still the old one!! Where is UIF stored? In eeprom or in flash? I took a look at the eeprom dump and at 0x0c80 and c90 I can still see the old vin. Is there any ill effect if I changed this vin directly in dump? It is 17 digits, no checksum on this line, or so it seems.

I don't have Autohex or BMWE so trying to use cheapest option.

RE: Changing CAS3+ Vin
Main system VIN is the full one near the top, this is what ISTA, Kombi etc all use, UIF VIN is the short VIN at the bottom with the part numbers.
If you update the module, the UIF VIN will change.

RE: Changing CAS3+ Vin
I suspect the VIN is encoded in both the P-flash and the EEPROM.

I do think so too but cant see it in the flash dump. Maybe it is encrypted in the flash

RE: Changing CAS3+ Vin
VIN will be changed in UIF after programming, only if you check 'UIF write' in WinKFP settings. As I remember in default this option is unchecked.

Only BMW services:

Remote coding/programming - E, F, G serie
HDD change, Carplay, Screen mirroring activation
FSC pack - CIC, NBT, NBT EVO, ENTRYNAV2, MGU, KAFAS
Remote reset 8HP ISN F serie
ELV disable for CAS3, 3+

RE: Changing CAS3+ Vin
Very funny. I tried to update the CAS with winkfp. Failed straight away something about the .opa version. The cas came from an E90, installed it in an X1 same engine (DME/CAS exchange). I thought all 0L15Y cas 3+ have the same program file? FA was already copied from FRM. Also have a strange error. DSC reports it is the wrong one for the car (active steering) Its a DXC89, this error was not there before the swap. Interesting

Not got down to look further. Will have a closer look over the weekend.

Maybe it has a different EWS version. There was a thread when author had 2 identical CAS3, but with different EWS and couldn't programm it.
