Not only VIN, most important thing is ISN...
I think you will need E70/71 gearbox

E70 / E71 have 8HP70X Gearbox. I want a 8HP70Z in my e91

I really dont know if that is compatible based on PT can protocols,(PTcan 1 vs 2)...you need to check this... Mixing E and F series....
Maybe doable, I dont have experience at this

I have realized this in my E91 with N57 engine in 2017.
You need a gearbox from F3x (8HP70Z) and the TCU from E7x or E84 with 8HP.
Then you need a engine modul DDE 7.3.1 and the shifter from E84.

ISN-Reset on the E70 TCU?
DDE 7.3.1 is from F Series?
Do u have picture from the retrofit?
the cruise control works

From 535d should work also.
ISN Reset - Yes - or you have a new TCU.
DDE 7.3.1 is from E70 X5 30d N57. F-Series doesnt work - newer BUS-System.
Pictures, sure... But where...? 
Cruise Control works, but you have to code the DSC to manual gearbox. Cruise Control works up to the 7th gear. 8th gear cruise control doesnt work, because the DSC doesnt understand the CAN message.
