Hi. I have a 2017 G30 that from the factory has HU-H (Head Unit - High) (aka NTB EVO I think) with iDrive 6. The unit has a TV function and looks like this:  

The car had no navigation from factory whatsoever.

My question is:
Given that I can connect a GPS antenna to a head unit (either directly or via a com box emulator), and have an FSC code to "allow" NAV to be used, do I have a sufficient "rest of the hardware" to be able to enable the nav? I can do VO/FDL coding myself. I don't know if my unit, for instance, has an HDD to store the map data, etc.

If there's 6AE then everything is ok already.
If there's no 6AE, then remove your evo and check it's back side for the blue gps connector presence.
Another option is to give us a VIN, so we can check it for you.
In any of the cases you'll need FSC codes.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. There is no 6AE, car came with no teleservices whatsoever. However the fact that I got a big screen gives me hope that given I can hook up the GPS antenna, I can upload maps and activate the Nav. And the question was if HDD requirements in Head Unit are met.

The last part of VIN that should allow a features lookup is: WB98298

It's NBT EVO, and HDD is present, so you just need to add GPS antenna to it.
