RE: Simos PC2.1 communication error
I got the message "communication problem" in kess, Fgtech and VCP PRO. Have only tried to unlock with the one adapter "simos PC2.1 unlock" from the 22 piece adapter kit I've bought with the stainless steel BDM Frame. After this didn't work, I checked the adapter, and there is some totally wrong soldering....

RE: Simos PC2.1 communication error
connect to the ecu directly using resistors and see if it can be read, if not then yes likely you have damaged ecu by using this adapter if you say it have 'wrong soldering'

learn and next time check adapter before connecting sad

i am all for adapters but 90% of time, i just solder

Fastest and easy job is buy working ecu with same hw and sw and mount it on car then go to official dealer to restore...otherwise look for someone with Avdi to do job. Pcr 2.1 first time read bdm then unlock and write forever by obd, in extreme case flash ori file and car starts everytime u want!

I am not quite sure what you mean by connecting directly using resistors?

I have read on bench by Kess, before I tried to unlock.
I have bought another ECU with same part number, same HW number

Post the bdm read that u did here, maybe u locked ecu writing bad file. With new ecu u need adapting to car and storing keys, I think that VAS can do the job or VCP too but not sure..

I have fixed this problem, tried to backup the old ECU with ktag, and an new unlock adapter... This worked!
