There is 2004 E60 with CCC. When weather is colder it works without any issues. When hot, however, it frequently stops reading DVD and later reboots itself. This can happen each 5-10 minutes. No codes whatsoever in CCC itself, just MOST ring failure due to CCC fault in CID.

Does anyone know if this is a sign of CCC itself failing, or DVD drive swap could fix this issue? Or maybe can be repaired in another way?

Looks like your CCC is overheating. Maybe you need to clean/replace the fan (parts number: 65836933200) If it is a failing capacitor the fix could be more difficult. If the fan is failing there will be no Error since the controller is placed directly in the fan and only activates if needed.

Forgot to tell that I tried activating fan using diagnosis and then I saw rpms to be around 6000 which dropped to around 4400 after a few seconds. But today was not a hot day, it will be a while till hot weather returns... Does that sound ok?

What capacitors can be failing there? Its no problem for me to resolder them. Are they cylindrical ones which bulge out when old? Or are they SMD ones difficult to inspect visually?

Its been quite some years when I disassembled CCC last time so forgot what it looks inside

Sorry for the late reply. There are 3 "3300uf, 25V 105°C, 18x20 (DxH)" capacitors that are notorious for failing. There also is one 1000uf capacitor but it seems to brake not nearly as often as the other 3k ones.

I don't know how the rules on linking to another bord are but you should find tutorials with google.
