RE: How to Program Spare key
depend on for which car.
for example F series ,if you get key from dealer, simply get it into car, pusch start button and get key near key reader (right side of steering wheel) |

RE: How to Program Spare key
If you buy a blank key, it requires some rather expensive tools to program the key to the car.
If you get a key from the dealership, it's already programmed for your car, you simply initialize it by putting it against the inductive coil in the car. On E-series you stick it in the little key socket, on F-series you put it against the side of the steering column. |

RE: How to Program Spare key
For E-Series you would need a virginized key and the "BMW Multi Tool" for a hefty $800. There are ways to do it by soldering directly to the ecu and using a raspberry pi for the programming but that is even more risky.
A key from the dealership should cost about $200 so you can loose 4 keys before the MultiTool pays for itself. |

RE: How to Program Spare key
If it is one time use, buy from the dealer, its cheaper. If you have opportunity to make keys for others, buy a key maker,
1. Yanhua 2. Tango, 3. CGDI Pro 4. And on and on Original some clone, choice is yours. |
