as BMW is planning to move all NED-Diagnosis (non Electrical Diagnosis) from ISTA to the Cloud / BMW Servers starting with ISTA Version 4.18, I want to remind and encourage you to safe a 4.17 Version for your personal usage on a safe place. Just in case if you later need this diagnosis for your individual problem.

Tbh most of the NED diagnosis fault patterns werent that useful anyway.. Nothing lost from my perspective.

I readed as the NEDs test module and documents will not be in AIR, which as Fatalix says they are not too useful

Hopefully am right and they will still be in ISTA D, dont know why but.... already are loosing as we are seeing much stuff going to the cloud as is happening with ETK and KSD

What does Non Electrical Diagnosis means? Sorry for the stupid question

It will guide you thru an analysis of an error which can not only be found by reading of ECU or Error-Codes.

E.g. you have some terrible noises from brake system. The NED will then ask you a couple of questions, about the problem, guide you thru some physical (non electronic) measurements and so on, until the error is found and a possible solution is given by ISTA.

Some (not all) NEDs are very good an useful, but not all. Key is that you are able to find BMW known errors without knowledge of specific BMW models and their weak points.

Its diagnosis of things that are not related to control units. For example problems with wind noise or other noises in car can be diagnosed there. And also other things of course.

I dont think this will be too big of a loss.

NED function is very useful to diagnosis other issue such as noise/malfunction etc...not relate to electrical.
