Hi,

I recently had to give my immobiliser to a company to make a new key card for my Laguna II. I had broke the only card including the transceiver chip.

So now I have a working key card, but it is my only one. I want to make a duplicate. I have a spare key card and I can install a black transceiver chip from eBay. I also have a CliP (Sonde Can v139).

Can somebody advise me how to make the duplicate, please?

I don't need a new card, just a copy of my card that I have already.

What is wrong with Renault CliP, can't it do this job?

yes you can add key by clip but you need pin code.

I don't like to pay £150 for 10 minutes work.

I've seen video on Youtube for other key programmers (not CliP) and it looks easy. Basically the steps are 1) Insert original key. 2) Connect device and select program new key. 3) Insert new key. 4) Program new key. 5) Job done.

Is it not easy like that? I'd be less likely to make any mistake if I have a guide! I can easily prepare a blank key card.

And if you want to code card you can buy tools which cost xxxxx euros and made keys and card in 5 minutes

I think it is like buying a car re-map. You pay a garage £250 to upload a pre-made file to the ECU and it takes 5 minutes. They pretend it takes 5 hours.

If they make a custom map for your car and use rolling road I can understand the price because it takes time and skill. Similarly I can understand the price if I need a new key without original or other more complicated procedure like diagnostic. You already told me it is possible with the CliP device which I have, I only want to know how so I don't make a mistake.

Since you ask my speciality is electronics, acoustics and CNC machine design. I'm happy to give my advice on these subjects for free on various forum. It can not replace years study and experience so I am not afraid to help people.
