ok sorry to rehash this been reading various forums etc for about a month without definite answers hoping for some help.

cgdi I notice the erase thread has come up again do we know whether it will erase and write new mileage to later bmw id chips?.

same question about cas 4 units I understand it can read and decrypt them but will it reset the mileage?. or does it require the data being transferred to another device to do it ?.

pretty much same for vvdi some write ups claim there programmers do both, but then say the data has to be modified by another unit .

sorry again for long post just confused and don't want to jump wrong way.

hoping I have this wrong but it looks like , vvdi programmer to read and vvdi bmw programmer to reset cas4.
 
or cgdi programmer to read and cgdibmw to reset.

the only advantage I see is vvdi appear to have a replacement wt chip and states it can read the id and transfer it
