n63 oil consumption 4000miles
Hello. I have this car since 20000 miles. change oil in every 4000 miles. Used 5w30 Valvoline. 20000-24000 added only 1 litter oil. 24000-28000 and 28000-32000 too. From 32000 to 36000 used 2 litters. At 34000 changed all injectors, spark plugs and 2  upper crankcase vent hoses. because I needed 2 litter 5w30, changed oil and used 0w40 shell. Now need 1 litter in every 700 miles. Car does not smoke, no leaks. What can be the reason?

If there is no leak, oil is sureley burnt due to weared valve stem seals. Not unusal for the N63.

In that case must have blue smoke. Car does not have any smoke.

Let the car idle for 10-15 Minutes and push then the accelerator. If the oil is not in the coolant and also not on the floor, it was burnt -you cannot cheat physics. smile

Did it yesterday and there was not any smoke. No black smoke, no white smoke. Maybe it is  Oil Supply and Return Line Blockage? How to determine it?

I guess that this would come with a massive oil pressure problem. I own also a N63...

RE: n63 oil consumption 4000miles
So you put top of the line synthetic oils into your engine and still expect smoke to be blue? Those burn as clean as the petrol itself. NO SMOKE AT ALL!!! Why you apply decades old knowledge about mineral oils to synthetics is beyond me...

Update: if you just had a look at the chemical formula for alpha-olefin which is oldest base for synthetic oil you would see it consists of carbon and hydrogen atoms only. Same as petrol. Where do you expect blue to come from?

RE: n63 oil consumption 4000miles
It's either leaking somewhere on the vehicle or the motor is consuming it. You might not always see it out the tail pipe as it could be occurring under load. There was a lawsuit over the N63 oil consumption here in the US LINK
