NBT or NBT evo
I'm looking at pre LCI 2015 F06. How do I tell if it's Nbt or NBT Evo?

Is it possible to flash it to the id5 interface?

Thanks

RE: NBT or NBT evo
It is NBT. You cannot flash it into NBT2 ID5.

Ok thanks. I presume Evo was from facelift? It has the glass screen?

No.  2016 Model Year was Facelift, and it still had NBT.  I think NBT2 came the following year with 2017 Model Year.

My F06 built 05/2015 is MY 2016, and has NBT.  If NBT2 ID4 was added 09/2015, it would also still be MY 2016, meaning 2016 MY year could have either NBT or NBT2 ID4, which is very strange.

Typical American marketing bull crap, which means nothing at all, just a means to clear stocks and sales men/women to get their sales commissions.

Nothing to do with technical updates

Typically MY+1 are usually from the 3rd quarter of the year, but yet again, nothing to do with technical or design upgrades

Not 100% reliable but usually is good enough.
Put the VIN in ETK/Realoem.com and go to headunits parts. If car was built in 01.2016 and NBT2 shows up for this car then you know it is a id4 unit.
The parts list will also show you a column that says Valid from month.year, so that helps to determine too.
