XZBMW  HU_Entry flash issue
Hey everyone, looking to get some help with this issue.

13 328i with HU_ENTRY. Replaced module with used unit due to dead HU, system now works but Bluetooth does not work and Combox Media isn’t communicating (assuming it’s due to the HU not being coded).

Injected cafd but it fails coding. Attempted to flash but it fails every time at 18% during swfl flash, seems to loose Ethernet connection as I get a HU Ethernet failure. I tried another but enet cable but same issue.

Could someone help me out with this issue? HU is now stuck in boot loader screen and does not turn off.

Thanks!

RE: HU_Entry flash issue
Also, please use a DHCP service to provide fixed IP address to HU.

RE: HU_Entry flash issue
I’m using an enet cable. Do I still need to set up a DHCP, I thought that was only if I was using an ICOM?

I’ll try flashing with firewall turned off and report back.

I tried with the firewall disabled but same issue.

I've attached the failure log.

RE: HU_Entry flash issue
HUEntry units have FSC's for Bluetooth & USB, that is why the BT didnt work the first time, as far as the failed flash, I had the same with a few units & it seems to be a HW fault causing the flash to fail.

This is the case when the HDD is dead.

RE: HU_Entry flash issue
There are also HU_Entry which generally don´t have MOST by hardware, you have to check if there is a MOST connector. In past one of these units fooled me too.

I have exactly the same issue with two separate HU though, so I doubt its a HDD failure.

I actually noticed this yesterday. I have two replacement HU and one does not have MOST. But they both exhibit the same point of failure.

Both HU fail while the SWFL is being flashed at 18%.

Although both were stuck in German after failing the flash, I flashed the FEM-GW and Kombi (due to dependencies) and now the HU is in English again. But the flash still fails at the same point.

I notice when ever it fails at 18%, It always fails with the same description, RTE (RequestTransferExit), anyone know what this means?

UDS protocol mate, so:

Quote:Request SID $37
Response SID $77
"Request Transfer Exit"
A data transmission can be 'completed' when using the "Transfer Exit" service. This service is used for comparison between the control unit and the tester. When it is running, a control unit can answer negatively on this request to stop a data transfer request. This will be used when the amount of data (set in "Request Download" or "Upload Request") has not been transferred.

If my post was helpful to you please give me a thanks and/or reputation biggrin
