It's easy. F-series talking via different system then E64. One part works, other is dead. Get real ICOM

I also buy a ICOM China Clone. The ENET Part is OK but the K+CAN Part of the Interface is broken.
I can read F Cars but no E60, E61 ,... 400€ for the trash. I would never buy this shit again... |

(11-07-2019, 17:44 PM)Fraizer Wrote: i want to try to fix my actual icom next from china. not to buy another one First. There is NO ICOM NEXT from china. There is only chinese re-engineered ICOM A1 called next and put into box similar to ICOM Next. Second. It may be anything from missing/bad components to bad soldering. If you want to fix it you will have to trace a path of K-line and/or CAN lines (depending on which ones or both are not working) from the OBD connector into processor. And check that it looks ok and components are there. If you would know that it worked before and stopped, you could assume VP gone bad. But as it never worked, it may well be missing components. Its very tedious task because boards are multi-layered and you can't see the traces clearly. So you will need to use continuity on multimeter and just guess most of a time. Third. If you bought it from ebay I would raise a dispute and try to return it to seller. If you bought it directly, you may try to ask your bank to cancel the payment. If you really want to try to fix it, good luck, you will need it. I personally would not try to do that because I've seen soldering in ICOM clones being so bad that components were falling off the board just from being touched. |
