EEPROM milage question
Hi,
Guys can someone help me out. Im hooked, i want to learn more about EEPROM, and milage coding cluster. Can someone tell me where can i learn more about this, how it's done and similar. Can someone recommend me what hardware do i need to read data off EEPROM chips ? ( ebay link would help) Thank you very much!

in same post. in Norway my friend want change mileage because of insurance
 if correct change km down need to do in cluster and ecu ? golf 6 gti 2011

For cluster you need A EEPROM programator ( it can be bought for little as 2$) 2) remove the cluster, and open it. Remove the dials and unsolder then EEPROM chip (6 pin one). You put the chip in the programator, and read the hex data off it. For golf 6 find in which line is the hex code for milage. There are calculators and programs that do this auto. But i cant find any links. I really want to learn more about this but information for manual hex decoding is a bit complicated to understand. There are also some units that can change milage via obd port. But i want to learn this basic EEPROM method. |
