RE: Bmw e60 Seat Occupancy coding with NCSexpert
You have to make sure that the seat occupancy detector is in fact disconnected, otherwise you will get all kinds of errors.
Then look in ACSM with NCS Dummy for the seat occupancy sensor and select nicht_aktiv for both types (SBE1_1 and OC3_1). I don't know for sure if you have both but just look around and find the one that is currently active. |

Coded everything out from SBSR and SBSL. Not sure if the coding was not sticking or if it was something else. In desperation I tied BMW explorer and that seems to do the trick. I don't get why NCS fails to successfully code on some cars. I did not have time. Will check again. |

You have to disconnect the cable under the seat...

The BMW documentation clearly states that the sensor is only used for the seat belt warning light in the rest of the world and the airbags will always deploy. In the US the airbags won't deploy if it detected a child seat, otherwise it will always deploy. In fact, you can retrofit chairs without the sensor in Mini, which uses the same sensors. |

Seat occupancy is a weight scale that will send a signal to deploy airbag if weight detected is > 12 kg There is no such thing as "baby seat detector" in cars man. That's why cars since the last while now have a lock on the passenger side/or glovebox somewhere that you can turn of in order to turn on to block passenger airbag in case of an accident. |

RE: Bmw e60 Seat Occupancy coding with NCSexpert
US and non US cars have different detection system. You are describing non US. As far as I know US BMWs don’t have that key switch to turn off passanger airbag. They have a more sofisticated detection system and yes they recognise child seat.
