Is it possible to retrofit a 2010 white cluster in the 2008 transporter?
As there is no info regarding this, I guess it´s not possible?
The T5 has 2 connectors to cluster and T5.1 has 1, is there an adapter or pinout?
Do they even speak the same language (CAN)?
T5 uses CAN 1.6 and T5.1 uses CAN 2.0, so i guess this will never work

You have checked if your ABS controller it's supported?Same for Can-Gateway.
For cables if you understand Deutsch I have scheme.
I have buyed the adapter from 36 to 32 pin from China

i alredy made te adapter and swapd the abs pump! (1K0907379BL)
also swap the can gateway (7N0907530J) and bought nem transponders id 48!
my doubts is in the immo data...its just copy the informaçion...vin,serial number,cs,mac,power class, pin and program new transponder?? or tho i have to change something else in the eeprom file??

2008 T5 is based on Golf mk4 platform
CAN BUS is TP 1.6
CAN gateway is located inside the dashpod
Diagnostic is done through K line

2010 on Transporter
Is based on MK5 Golf
CANBUS is TP2.0
Seperate CAN Gateway
Diagnostic done through CANBUS

You can get convertors (To fit a TP2.0 radio into a TP1.6 Van) EG RNS 510 into  Early T5  but not sure they will work for dash 
CanShack used to sell them (But don't seem to be around any more)

i'll try to swap the cecm for a bcm if a can swap the cluster...
if i guet to that point i hill shapp the entire cable loom for one off a golf 6...im not going to hack up the lome off my car!

From your old cluster  you have to copy:
CS,MAC,VIN,PIN,Power Class
Be very careful on the CS because old cluster have only 7 bit the new have 12
