How do you make these dumps? and is it used to flash directly to the module?

BDM process using a programmer like vvdi prog, CG Pro, or Hexprog. If the module is not responding in car, sometimes it is recoverable by writing a good dump directly to the MCU. This is primarily for E-series FRM3, but process applies to many modules.
