I did the telematic combox retrofit in my 2010 E82 and I have everything working except for BMW Live ($6AL) and Internet ($614). I’m trying to get these two options to work with the Bluetooth connection on my iPhone X.  I have the mobile hotspot option enabled on my phone and the Data transfer via Bluetooth device option enabled on the car. Whenever I try to use BMW Live or Internet, I get the “Please activate data services for Bluetooth device or contact service center’ message. I have the BT_DATA option set to active in CIC. I coded the combox with a donor VIN that has factory 614, 6AL, etc… (WBA3D31000J268300) and set the ‘TELEMATIK_VIN’ option to ‘coding_vin’.

I think the problem might be with the donor VIN because my VIN (VK95973) is showing up under ‘Bluetooth Information’ instead of the donor VIN. I know the combox is coded with the donor VIN because I checked it in INPA and Tool32. I also double checked that the TELEMATIK_VIN was set to ‘coding vin’. Also, when I go to ‘Service Status’, ‘Update BMW Assist’ is greyed out. I believe this update has to be carried out first in order to get Live and Internet working but I’m not sure.

It doesn't work by tethering phone's internet connection to the car? I thought it was only BMW assist and BMW online that stopped working?

So, if i have a car with factory CIC + Combox, BMW Online does not work anymore?
This is stupid.
